Mukwa New Logo

On December 19, 2025, Mukwa was granted a donation of $5,000.00 from the Blandin Foundation. A portion of these funds was utilized to hire Sarah LittleRedFeather from LittleRedFeather Design to develop a new logo for our organization. Through extensive discussions, we harnessed Sarah's design expertise and infused our vision into the project, resulting in a logo we are truly proud of.

LittleRedFeather Design

This design beautifully weaves together all elements of Mukwa. The circles draw inspiration from Native American Women’s ribbon dresses, as the design is adorned with our sacred tobacco leaves and flowers, while the black bear paw symbolizes our Indigenous Matriarchy. Near the bottom, Lakota-inspired shapes pay tribute to our shared connections and homelands. Lastly, the colors inspired by the music artist Prince reflect solidarity with the collective trauma experienced by Native and Black American communities.

Chi-Miigwetch to all parties that made this truly beautiful design and logo be created.
